Problem/Challenge

The old rooftop walkway was either non-existent or in a very poor state of repair. The client required a light weight product that would allow for drainage, and would further provide a highly visible walkway.

Solution

Due to its lightweight properties, GRP was the selected material for the rooftop walkway. Following a site survey, we supplied GRP RE-GRID panels fabricated to size ensuring that they would fit between the main support beams of the building. Steps were supplied with highly visible yellow GRP nosing at the beam points

Finally, pedestals were supplied to elevate the grating from the roof to allow drainage, and additionally to match the level of the exit doors.

Due to access issues the panels had to be supplied in small sections so that they could be loaded onto a hoist with ease for access to the roof, and further easily handled by two personnel.
